What is proposed?

THE METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL OF STOCKPORT (ERNOCROFT ROAD, MARPLE BRIDGE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Metropolitan Borough Council of Stockport proposes to make an Order not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffc Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffc (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which will be to introduce a Temporary Prohibition of Driving at Ernocroft Road, Marple Bridge from the junction of Compstall road in an easterly direction for approximately 70 metres, whilst traffc signs to that effect are in place on or near the said road. This Order is necessary to allow for gas main replacement works to take place. It is estimated these works will last 2 weeks. A diversion will be provided via Compstall Road, Cote Green Lane, Ernocroft Road, and vice versa. This Order is to come into operation on the 9 December 2024 and will have effect for eighteen months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
