What is proposed?

Notice of application to vary a Premises Licence under Section 34 of the Licensing Act 2003

Notice is hereby given that Mitchells & Butlers Leisure Retail Limited in respect of Premises known as Marquis of Granby, 4 West Street, Epsom, Surrey, KT18 7RG applied to Epsom and Ewell Borough Council for a Variation of a Premises Licence. The variation seeks approval to works to refurbish the premises, which includes extending the licensed area to incorporate the existing rear pergola by enclosing the space and adding double doors. In the external area to the front, a new butterfly awning will be added and the existing jumbrellas relocated.

An external bar servery will be built to the front to service guests in this space. The applicant is also seeking to amend opening hours to add 60 minutes to preserve drinking up time when the clocks go forward on the commencement of British Summertime. There is no change to permitted hours for licensable activities nor to licensable activities. The Marquis of Granby will continue to operate as currently, with improved facilities for customers following the refurbishment.

Any representations regarding the above-mentioned application must be received in writing by Licensing, Grants and HIA Service, Epsom and Ewell Borough Council, Town Hall, The Parade, Epsom, Surrey, KT18 5BY or by email to licensing@epsom-ewell.gov.uk no later than 19th September 2024 stating the grounds for representation. The register of Epsom and Ewell Borough Council and the record of the application may be inspected at the address of the council, given above, during normal business hours or if it is available on the councils website at - www.epsom-ewell.gov.uk.

It is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application. A person is liable to an unlimited fine on conviction should such a false statement be made.
