Description:  Copperhead Ales  Brewery Taproom, Unit 6, Burke Road, Totnes, TQ9 5XL

Licensable activities: Supply of alcohol

Hours: Mon - Wed: 0800 - 1800 (click and collect) Thurs: 0800 - 1200 (click and collect) Thurs-Sun: 1200 - 2300 (taproom open)

Promoting the licensing objectives:

  • The business will participate in the Pubwatch and Ask for Angela scheme
  • We shall advertise and greatly encourage customers to "park in town, walk down", as opposed to trying to park at the premises
  • All staff will be thoroughly trained by the license holder in promoting the licensing objectives
  • Premises will be well lit inside and out and effective CCTV is in place
  • Managing Incident Procedures and a daily incident book will be used
  • The business will promote the use of public transport and display information about routes and times
  • Police/Licensing Officers to be contacted in events of anti-social behavour
  • Work closely with EDP Together Devon Drug and Alcohol services
  • Procedures put in place to keep premises in a good, clean and tidy condition inside and out at all times, plus documented regular toilet checks
  • The business will ensure clear and accurate signage is maintained
  • Risk assessments will be in place for premises and activities
  • Regular fire safety inspections and visits from Totnes Fire Safety
  • Litter and waste management procedures in place
  • Limiting alcohol sold before last hour, and covering bar taps in last hour
  • Music will be for background purposes only and will be kept to a reasonable volume
  • Rubbish collection contracts with Biffa will be in place and bins will be kept away from public access. Beer bottles recycled in-house
  • Well take a proactive and risk based approach to public nuisance
  • We share best practices via trade groups eg UK Brewers FB group
  • Strictly enforced Challenge 25 policy will be in place and records kept
  • All children to be accompanied by an adult. Relevant authorities to be contacted if we have concerns about the wellbeing of a child
  • Ensuring children/young people are not exposed to strong language, violence or disorder
  • We'll implement the Portman Group Code of Practice on naming, packaging and promotion of alcoholic drinks
