What is proposed?

Notice is hereby given that The Black Horse Inn of 11-13 Orchard Street has applied to Canterbury City Council for the Grant of Licence Application.

We The Black Horse Inn of 11-13 Orchard Street, Canterbury, Kent, CT2 8AP. Give notice that we have applied to Canterbury City Council as Licensing Authority to Grant a Premises Licence in respect of The Black Horse Inn in its current state includes building numbers 11,12 and 13 Orchard Street. It has been licensed to sell alcohol to hotel residents only, since 2015 under current premises licence KE-PR-15-02564. The sale of alcohol has been from mini fridges in the hotel rooms and via the lounge bar 11am to 2300. The current licence prohibits the consumption of alcohol in the garden after 2100 hours. The Premises has been under the control of the applicant since 2010, and will continue to do so, with
the same current DPS.

This application seeks to permit the following:
Sale of alcohol via mini fridges in the hotel rooms to guests 24/7. Sale of alcohol in the lounge bar to resident guests only between 1100 and 2300 hours daily. Sale of alcohol in the restaurant to guests and non-guests between 1100 and 2300 hours daily. To permit the consumption of alcohol in the garden till 2200 hours. The alcohol on display at the bar is kept locked outside of licensable hours. The sale of alcohol for the restaurant guests shall only be permitted to persons taking a table meal and for consumption by those persons as ancillary to their meal. There are approximately 25 interior tables for dining and 14 exterior tables for dining in the patio/garden area. Any person wishing to submit representations to my/our application must give notice in writing to the address shown above, giving in detail the grounds of objection by 04/10/23

The Council will not entertain representations where the writer requests that his identity remains anonymous. Copies of all representations will be included in the papers presented to the Licensing Panel and will therefore pass into the public domain. Representations must relate to one of the four Licensing Objectives: the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, the prevention of public nuisance and the protection of children from harm. In the case of an application for a provisional statement, please note that representations will be restricted once a statement has been issued.
