TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2022

Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all southbound vehicular traffic from Southend Road from its junction with Springwell Road, to the extended party property boundary of nos. 3 and 5. The Order is required to allow maintenance works on the gas main. The order will come into force on 23rd January 2023. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be six months, it is estimated that the works will take two weeks. All southbound vehicles will be prohibited from Southend Road from its junction with Springwell Road, to the extended party property boundary of nos. 3 and 5, until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. An alternative route will be provided and pedestrian access to properties will be maintained throughout.
