TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 16A

SECRET GARDENS OF OXTON SPECIAL EVENT ORDER 2026

Whereas Wirral Borough Council are satisfied that the use of the roads listed below should be restricted to facilitate the above special event and to enable it to take place safely.

NOW THEREFORE the Council in exercise of its powers under s16A of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended and of all other enabling powers having satisfied itself that it is not reasonably practicable for the event to be held without being on this road intends to make an Order in the following terms:

No person shall cause any vehicle to enter or proceed along the length of roads listed below:

Rose Mount, Oxton from its junction with Willan Street to its junction with Village Road/Claughton Firs.

Village Road, Oxton from its junction with Columbia Road to its junction with Claughton Firs.

Mount Pleasant, Oxton from its junction with Rose Mount to its junction with Poplar Road.

Poplar Road, Oxton from its junction with Roslin Road to its junction with Mount Pleasant.

Christchurch Road, Oxton from its junction with Bessborough Road to its junction with Palm Hill.

Alternative routes for diverted vehicular traffic will be signed accordingly. Access will be maintained for residents at the junctions of Bessborough Road with Christchurch Road, Village Road with Columbia Road and Poplar Road with Roslin Road.

The Order will not prevent reasonable access at any time to pedestrians to premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which this Order relates nor any premises accessible only to pedestrians from such a road.

This Order will be known as the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral Secret Gardens of Oxton Special Event Order 2026 and shall come into operation on 10 May 2026 and apply from 07:00am until 19:00 pm on that day only.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 16A

WIRRAL RACE FOR LIFE & PRETTY MUDDY BIRKENHEAD PARK SPECIAL EVENT ORDER 2026

Whereas Wirral Borough Council are satisfied that the use of the roads listed below should be restricted to facilitate the above special event and to enable it to take place safely.

NOW THEREFORE the Council in exercise of its powers under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended and of all other enabling powers having satisfied itself that it is not reasonably practicable for the event to be held without being on this road intends to make an Order in the following terms:

No person shall cause any vehicle to enter or proceed along the length of roads listed below:

Ashville Road, Birkenhead from its junctions with Park Road West to its junction with Cavendish Road.

The Order will not prevent reasonable access at any time for pedestrians to premises situated on or adjacent to any roads to which this Order relates nor any premises accessible only to pedestrians from such a road.

This Order will be known as the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral Race for Life & Pretty Muddy Birkenhead Park Special Event Order 2026 and shall come into operation on the 17 May 2026 and apply between 8am and 4pm on this day only.

TRAFFIC

SECTION 14 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (AS AMENDED)

NOTICE OF MAKING TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTION ORDER IN THE PENSBY AREA 2026

Notice is hereby given that Wirral Borough Council intend to make a Temporary Road Traffic Regulation Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 1 and Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers to enable works on or near the roads specified in the proposed order to take place.

The effects of the order, the alternative route for vehicular traffic, the date the order comes into force and its maximum duration is set out below.

Ashlea Road (Temporary Road Closure) Pensby Order 2026

The effect of this order will be to close Ashlea Road, Pensby at its junction with Pensby Road for a distance of 90 metres in a westerly direction to all vehicular traffic. Access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists.

Alternative Route: Pensby Road, Rosemead Avenue, Kentmere Drive.

Maximum Duration of the order: From 18 May 2026 and will continue to be in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 29 May 2026.

SECTION 14 OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 (AS AMENDED)

NOTICE OF MAKING TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTION ORDER IN THE PENSBY AREA 2026

Notice is hereby given that Wirral Borough Council have made the above order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by section 1 and Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers to enable proposed works to be executed on or near the roads specified in the proposed order (having already advertised notice of intent).

The effects of the order, the alternative route for vehicular traffic, the date the order comes into force and its maximum duration is set out below.

Belmont Drive (Temporary Road Closure) Pensby Order 2026

The effect of this order will be to close Belmont Drive, Pensby at its junction with Pensby Road for a distance of 30 metres in an easterly direction to all vehicular traffic. Access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists.

Alternative Route: Pensby Road, Belmont Drive (southern access).

Maximum Duration of the order: From 05 May 2026 and will continue to be in force for 18 months or for such less time as is necessary to complete the work to be executed in the highway, although it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 19 May 2026.

WIRRAL BOROUGH COUNCIL

ALABAMA WAY, BIRKENHEAD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2026

SCHEME REF NO. V02/26/01

Notice is hereby given that Wirral Borough Council (“Council”) in exercise of its powers intends to make the above named Order under Section 1, 2, 3 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act.

The effect of the Order, if made, will be to introduce prohibition of driving for unauthorised motor vehicles on Alabama Way, Birkenhead, operating any day between the hours of 8.00pm and 7.00am.

Exemptions will apply to emergency service vehicles and to vehicles authorised by the Council. Access during the restricted hours will be managed by means of an electronically controlled barrier operated by the council’s emergency control centre, via an intercom system. If the barrier was to fail and a contravention were to take place, the Prohibition of Driving restriction can be enforced by Merseyside Police.

The extent of the restriction is as set out below and as shown on the plan attached to the draft Order. The plan is provided for the purposes of identifying the location and extents of the proposals and is referred to by a plan number for ease of reference.

Prohibition of Driving, any day between 8.00pm & 7.00am

No persons shall cause or permit any unauthorised motor vehicle to proceed along Alabama Way, Birkenhead, between the hours of 8.00pm and 7.00am on any day from its junction with Monks Ferry to its termination at the Priory Wharf parking area.

A copy of the draft Order, together with a plan and any other relevant documents, notices or Order as appropriate as well as a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the Order can be requested via email at traffic.schemefeedback@wirral.gov.uk or via the contact centre 0151 606 2004.

The above documents are deposited and available by appointment for inspection by visiting the licencing department, at the Council’s Principal Office: Wallasey Town Hall, Brighton St, Wallasey CH44 8ED between 9.30am & 12pm and 2pm & 4pm, Monday to Friday, quoting the above scheme reference.

Any person wishing to object or make representations on the proposed Order, or to any provisions contained in it, may do so in writing, either by email trafficschemefeedback@wirral.gov.uk or by sending a written statement, stating the grounds on which the objection or representation is made to Senior Network Manager, Neighbourhood Services, PO Box 290, Brighton Street, Wallasey CH27 8ED quoting the scheme reference number and location, or alternatively online at www.wirral.gov.uk/highways “Submit comments, questions or objections about new highway schemes in Wirral” quoting the scheme reference number.

All objections and representations must be received no later than 20th of May 2026 being not less than 21 days from the date of publication of this Notice.
