What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF SOUTHWARK
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
(KINGLAKE STREET, HATFIELDS, SNOWSFIELDS)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
1. The Council of the London Borough of Southwark hereby gives notice that to enable various works to be carried out, it made, an order, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicular traffic from entering part of the above named roads.
2. Whilst the works are in progress, or whilst the authorised traffic signs/road markings are displayed, no person shall cause any vehicle to enter, proceed, stop, wait, load or unload at any time in:
(2a) Kinglake Street, between Old Kent Road and No’s 2 – 4
(2b) Hatfields, between Joan Street and Isabella Street
(2c) Snowsfields, between Great Maze Pond and Weston Street
3. The alternative routes for affected traffic (2a) Albany Road, Thurlow Street, Kinglake Street (2b) Stamford Street, Blackfriars Road. The Cut. (2c) Weston Street, Long Lane, Crosby Row.
4 The existing ‘one-way ’working in Kinglake Street between No’s 2 – 4 and Upnor Way, will be made ‘two-way’ for access and egress purposes.
5. The existing ‘one-way ’working in Kipling Street, between Long Lane and Guy Street, will be made ‘two-way’ for access and egress purposes.
6. Exemptions will be provided in the Order to permit reasonable access to premises, so far as it is practical without interference with the execution of the said works.
7. The restrictions will not apply to any vehicle being used in connection with the said works, or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform.
8. The closure will be in operation on the following dates (2a) 4th – 26th May (2b) 2nd – 4th May (2c) 2nd & 9th May
