Bescar Lane -Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic To Allow Excavation Works
What is happening?

(BESCAR LANE, SCARISBRICK, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Bescar Lane, Scarisbrick from Bescar Lane Station to Moss Hall Farm, Bescar Lane.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Monday 23rd March until 1700 hours on Friday 27th March 2026 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Berryhouse Road, Wiggins Lane, B5246 Holmeswood Road, B5246 The Marshes Lane, B5246 The Gravel, A565 Southport New Road, A565 Water Lane, A565 Preston New Road, A565
Cambridge Road, A565 Park Crescent, A565 Albert Road, A565 Lord Street, A570 Eastbank Street, A570 Scarisbrick New Road, A570 Southport Road, B5242 Bescar Brow Lane and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow excavation works in carriageway to be carried out to install and joint cable for new connections.
