Moor Lane, Stamford Bridge - Temporary Traffic Regulation

What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC PART OF THE
FOLLOWING: MOOR LANE AND
MOOR ROAD, STAMFORD BRIDGE AND
NEWBRIDGE LANE, HIGH CATTON

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will
be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along part
of Moor Lane, Stamford Bridge from its junction with
Moor Road/Newbridge Lane westbound for
approximately 220 metres, from a property called
Beech House, part of Moor Road, Stamford Bridge
from its junction with Moor Lane/Newbridge Lane,
eastbound for approximately 110 metres and part of
Newbridge Lane, High Catton from its junction with
Moor Lane/Moor Road southbound for approximately
150 metres commencing 4 March 2026 at 08.00
hours until 10 March 2026 at 17.00 hours for the
purposes of installing ducting and chambers for the
new BDUK fibre network on behalf of Quickline
Communications works. The road closure is necessary
to enable the works to be carried out in a manner
consistent with ensuring the safety of the public.
The Order is valid for 18 months, but it is anticipated
that the works will be completed within seven days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via: Northbound - Moor Road, Church
Road, A166 Main Street, A166 Roman Road, A166
Bridlington Road, Hatkill Lane and Moor Lane.
Southbound - Newbridge Lane, Ling Lane, Station
Road, Highfield Lane, Hatkill Lane and Moor Lane,
Catton CP, Stamford Bridge CP, Full Sutton CP, Bishop
Wilton CP, Fangfoss CP, Pocklington Provincial Ward,
Wolds Weighton Ward. The diversion route will be
signed at the time of closure. The road will be closed
to all through traffic but access will be maintained for
residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
