THE HAMPSHIRE (BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH NO.34)

(PARISH OF HANNINGTON – FOOTPATH NO.7106A)

PUBLIC PATH CREATION AND DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2025

The above order, made on 23 October 2025 under section 26 of the Highways Act 1980, will create a public bridleway over Hannington Footpath 7106a, commencing at a junction with Ibworth Lane at SU 5420 5549 and proceeding northwards to a junction with Hannington Bridleways 7121 and 7106b at SU 5419 5564, as described in the Schedule to the order.

This order is also made under section 53A(2) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (“the 1981 Act”) because it appears to the authority that the Hampshire Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way (dated 15th December 2007) require modification in consequence of the occurrence of an event specified in section 53(a)(i) of the 1981 Act, namely, the creation (as authorised by this order) of a highway required to be shown in the map and statement.

A copy of the Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of:

  • Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD

  • Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, RG21 4AH

    at all reasonable hours, and online at:

     www.hants.gov.uk/publicnotices 

Copies of the Order and the map can be provided on request.

Any representations or objections to the Order may be sent:

  • By email to:

  • Deadline: No later than 12 December 2025

Data Protection Notice:

The personal data you provide in any representation will be treated in accordance with Data Protection Legislation, and may:

  • Be published in a decision report

  • Be disclosed to interested parties, including the landowner (or their reps)

  • Be made public if referred to the Planning Inspectorate

Data will be retained for a maximum of 3 years from the date the application is resolved.

Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation – Highways Act 1980

If no representations or objections are made (or are withdrawn), Hampshire County Council may confirm the Order as unopposed.

If the Order is sent to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, any outstanding objections will be forwarded along with the Order.

Persons submitting representations or objections should note that their names and addresses may become publicly available.
