Dewsbury Area - Multiple Temporary Prohinition of Traffic Orders
What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
(BRADFORD ROAD, DEWSBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Bradford Road, Dewsbury from its junction with Dewsbury Ring Road to its junction with Spinkwell Mill Apartment access road
PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via the following routes:-
Diversion 1 - via Dewsbury Ring Road, Leeds Road, A6029, A650 Britannia Road/Bruntcliffe Road, Leeds Road, A652 Bradford Road and vice versa.
Diversion 2 - via Bradford Road, Huddersfield Road, Webster Hill, Dewsbury Ring Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday, 17 November 2025 and remain in force until 24 November 2025 (between 22:00 - 05:00 hours - night works only) (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18
months if necessary).
(VALLEY ROAD, LIVERSEDGE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) (NO 2) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Valley Road, Liversedge from its junction with Bradford Road to its junction with Halifax Road PROVIDED THAT
such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via Bradford Road, Leeds Road, Halifax Road and vice versa.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Monday 17 November 2025 and remain in force until 28 November 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
(FOOTPATH SPE/101/20, GOMERSAL, CLECKHEATON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the footpath has made an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall proceed in that
length of Footpath SPE/101/20, Gomersal, Cleckheaton from Footpath SPE/101/40 to its junction with Firthcliffe Parade PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to persons carrying out the proposed works.
Alternative routes for persons affected by the closure will be available via Firthcliffe Parade, Listing Lane, Footpath SPE/101/30 and vice versa.
The closure which came into operation on 5 June 2025 has been extended with permission of the Secretary of State for Transport to remain in force for a further period until 26 December 2025 (Any further extension will again require the permission of the Secretary of State).
(SCOPSLEY GREEN, WHITLEY, DEWSBURY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Borough of Kirklees by reason of works proposed to be carried out on or near the road intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the
effect of which will be that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in that length of Scopsley Green, Whitley, Dewsbury from its junction with Scopsley Lane to a point outside property no. 4 PROVIDED THAT
such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the works to be carried out on or near the closed length of road or to vehicles requiring access up to the point(s) of the closure.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
There is no alternative diversionary route available.
Residents access will be maintained.
It is intended that the closure will commence on Wednesday, 3 December 2025 and remain in force until 5 December 2025 (although it can remain in force for any period up to 18 months if necessary).
