What is happening?

West Sussex County Council
 (Easebounrne: A272) (40MPH Speed Limit) Order 202*
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC proposes to introduce a permanent Order under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to introduce a 40MPH speed limit on the A272 extending 430M south-east of Easebourne village.
Full details of the proposals in this Notice can be viewed on our website www.westsussex.gov.uk/tro. The website includes a response form for comments or objections.
Paper copies of documents will not be available to view in council offices or libraries. People without access to a computer who wish to view details of the scheme should telephone the WSCC Contact Centre on 01243 642105 to receive the documents by post.
Any objections or comments about the proposal must be received by 4 December 2025. These may be sent via the response form on the website, in writing to: TRO Team, WSCC, The Grange, Tower Street, Chichester, PO19 1RH; or by e-mail to: tro.consultation@westsussex.gov.uk . All correspondence
should be addressed to the undersigned, quoting the reference TRO/CHI2503/RC. Only correspondence including a full name and address will be considered.
(Fernhurst: Marley Lane)
(Temporary Closure) Order 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to close a length of Marley Lane between Marley Lane Access Road and Lime Tree Cottage.
The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst electrical upgrade works are undertaken.
The Order came into effect on 17 November 2025 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated the works will commence on or after 17 November 2025 and will take until April 2026 to complete. Access for residents will be maintained from one end only.

(Aldwick: Barrack Lane) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Barrack Lane in Aldwick, from its junction with Fernhurst Gardens, northwards for 15M.
The road closure is needed to allow a new gas main connection to be installed in safety.
The Order will come into effect on 17 November 2025 and remain in force until 5 December 2025. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.
During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Bersted: Public Footpath 136/1) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025
NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Public Footpath 136/1 in Bersted, from its junction with Chalcraft Lane, northwards to its junction with Public Footpath 134.
The road closure is needed to maintain safety while works to upgrade the path are carried out.
The Order continues the effect of a previously issued closure notice and will come into effect on 16 November 2025. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 6 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.
During the operative periods of this Order, no direct alternative route is available via the Public Rights of Way network.
