Montrose Area - Temporary Traffic Restrictions
What is happening?

TRAFFIC ORDERS
On 10 November 2025, Angus Council made The Angus Council (Christmas Event in Montrose)(Temporary Traffic Restrictions) Order 2025, under Section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, for the purposes of public safety or convenience. The effect of the Order is to: (1) prohibit the driving and waiting of vehicles on High Street, Montrose over the entire length of the on-street car parking area situated directly north of the Town House; (2) prohibit the driving and waiting of vehicles on High Street, Montrose from its junction with Hume Street southwards for a distance of 95 metres or thereby and northwards for a distance of 77 metres or thereby; (3) prohibit the driving of vehicles, except taxis, on Hume Street, Montrose for its entire length; (4)
prohibit the waiting of vehicles on New Wynd, Montrose between its junctions with Market Street and High Street; and (5) prohibit the passage of pedestrians on the east side footway of High Street, Montrose fronting
the Town House. The prohibitions and restriction at (1-4) above will be effective from 4pm on 14 November 2025 until 10.30 pm on 15 November 2025. The prohibition at (5) above will be effective from 8am until 6pm on 13 December 2025. Full details of the Order are available at www.angus.gov.uk/trafficorders.
