ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14(1)
TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC ORDER 2025
VILLAGE STREET, HINWICK 25 – 089
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Village Street, Hinwick.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate replacement of existing culvert, repair works to existing headwall/ditch and resurfacing of road. and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from
27th November 2025 to 9th December 2025
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Village Street, Bozeat Road, Hinwick Road, Harrold Road, Allens Hill, London Road, A509 Bozeat Bypass, Strixton Road, A509 London Road, Wollaston Road. The reverse route applies.
The proposed Order will come into operation on 27th November 2025, for a period of 12 months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier. For further information please contact Bedford Borough Council Tel: 01234 718003.

BOX END ROAD, KEMPSTON 25 – 093
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along Box End Road, Kempston.
This temporary road closure is required to facilitate new water supply and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 08:00 to 16:00
hours from 9th December 2025 to 11th December 2025
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via Box End Road, Cemetery Road, The Branston Way, Bromham Bypass, Bromham Road, Bridge End.
The reverse route applies.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bedford Borough Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along Colesden Road, Colmworth 1.4KM east of the junction with Channels End Road This temporary road closure is required to facilitate install new footway and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.
This temporary road closure is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours from
9th December 2025 to 12th December 2025
The signed alternative route for vehicles affected by the order is available via
Colesden Road, Roxton Road, Bedford Road, Green End Road, Barford Road
The reverse route applies.

(KEMPSTON) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND
LOADING AND PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2018
(AMENDMENT NO.37) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 30th October 2025 Bedford Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:-
Effect of the Order:
1. To introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions (double yellow lines) on the following lengths of roads:
A Wilkinson Road, Kempston
(i) On its west kerb, extending from a point approx. 25.0 metres north of the north side of Griffin Way for a distance of approx. 28.0 metres in a northerly direction.
B Crowsley Road, Kempston
(i) On both sides of the road, extending from its junction with Martell Drive for a distance of approx. 12.5 metres in an easterly direction.
(ii) On its north-west kerb, extending from the projected north-east flank wall of no.16 Crowsley Road for a distance of approx. 15 metres in a southerly direction.
(iii) On its south-west kerb, extending from the centre of Henman Close for a
distance of approx. 10.5 metres in north-westerly direction, and for a distance
of approx. 15 metres in an easterly direction.
(iv) On its north-east kerb, extending from a point approx. 10.5 metres north-west of the centre of Henman Close for a distance of approx. 23 metres in an
easterly direction.
C Henman Close, Kempston
(i) On both sides of the road, extending from its junction with Crowsley Road for a distance of approx. 10 metres in a south-westerly direction.
(ii) On both sides of the road, extending from the centre of Chibnall Close for
a distance of approx. 10 metres in both a north-easterly and south-westerly
direction.
D Chibnall Close, Kempston
(i) On both sides of the road, extending from its junction with Henman Close for a distance of approx. 10 metres in a south-easterly direction.
(ii) On its south-eastern kerb (at its south-eastern end) and extending on both its north-eastern and south-western kerbs for a distance of approx. 1 metre in a north-westerly direction.
E Martell Drive, Kempston
(i) On both sides of the road, extending from the centre of Crowsley Road for a distance of approx. 15.2 metres in a north-easterly direction and 14.7 metres in a southerly direction.
Date of Operation This Order will come into force on 3rd November 2025 or as soon as practicable after this date.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 30th October 2025 Bedford Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which is detailed below:-
Effect of the Order:
1. To introduce new “No waiting at any time” restrictions (double yellow lines)
and “No loading at any time” restrictions (double kerb blips) on the following
length of road:-
A Progress Park, Elstow
(i) On both sides, extending from a point approx. 14.5 metres from its southern end (the end of the adopted highway) for a distance of approx. 107.5 metres in a northerly direction.
Date of Operation This Order will come into force on 3rd November 2025 or as soon as practicable after this date.

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2025
On 30 October 2025 Bedford Borough Council confirmed as an unopposed order the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert:-
i. That length of Public Footpath numbered 25 in the Parish of Ravensden in the environs of “Tycroes Farm,” Ravensden commencing from a point where it has a junction with the unaffected part of Footpath 25 approximately 143 metres southwest of the residential property known as “Old Farm Cottage” Ravensden at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0702/5386 and running in a north east direction for approximately 152 metres to OSGR TL 0711/5398 to a point commencing from a point where it has a junction with the unaffected part of Footpath 25 approximately 143 metres south-west of the residential property known as “Old Farm Cottage” Ravensden at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0702/5386 then running in a generally north-east direction for approximately 114 metres and then north for approximately 14 metres and then north-east for approximately 26 metres
where it connects to the public road known as Old Ways Road at OSGR TL
0710/5399.

A length of Public Bridleway in the Parish of Oakley commencing from a point where it has a junction with Bridleway 8, Oakley Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0269/5492 then running in a generally eastern direction for approximately 175 metres to a point where it meets the parish boundary of Clapham at (OSGR) TL 0286/5492, which joins Bridleway 27, Clapham forming part of this Order, then running in an eastern direction for approximately 40 metres to a point where it meets the unaffected section of Bridleway 27, Clapham at (OSGR) TL 0290/5491 to a point commencing from a point where it has a junction with Bridleway 8, Oakley Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0269/5492 then running in a generally southeastern direction for 149 metres to (OSGR) TL 0283/5489 and then running in a
north-eastern direction for approximately 30 metres to (OSGR) TL 0286/5490 and then north-east for approximately 41 metres to a point where it meets the unaffected section of Bridleway 27, Clapham at (OSGR) TL 0290/5491.

That length of Public Footpath numbered 1 in Bedford commencing from the unaffected part of Footpath 1 Bedford approximately 26 metres west-south-west of 108, Brookfield Road, Bedford at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0678/5077 then running in a north-west direction for approximately 237 metres to a point where it has a junction with that part of the unaffected Public Footpath number 1 to be retained at OSGR TL 0655/5085 and divert the Footpath to a point approximately 26 metres west-south-west of 108, Brookfield Road, Bedford commencing from a point where it has a junction with that part of Public Footpath number 1 to be retained at Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OSGR) TL 0678/5077 then running in a generally south west direction for approximately 286 metres to
Ordnance Survey Grid Reference OSGR TL 0656/5059, where it has a junction with the public road known as “Polhill Avenue.”
