Various Roads, Marchmont Area - Temporary Road Restrictions
What is happening?
THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL
(MARCHMONT AREA) (TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION
AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2025 - TEMP/25/141
The Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate Scottish Power cabling works, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on any part of: (i) Marchmont Cres, from the extended east kerbline of Marchmont Rd north-eastwards for 65m; (ii) Spottiswoode Rd, from the extended west kerbline of Marchmont Rd westwards to the extended east kerbline of Arden St; & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on both sides of: (i) Marchmont Cres, from
the extended east kerbline of Marchmont Rd north-eastwards for 65m; (ii) Spottiswoode Rd, from the extended west kerbline of Marchmont Rd westwards for 80m; & (iii) Marchmont Rd, from the extended north kerbline of Thirlestane Rd northwards for 130m. Existing parking restrictions will be suspended on the affected section of road described in (b). The alternative route for through vehicular traffic in relation to the road closures will be
by way of: (i) Marchmont Cres: (1) Marchmont Rd, Melville Dr, Argyle Pl, Roseneath St, Marchmont Cres; (2) Marchmont Rd, Melville Dr, Argyle Pl, Chalmers Cres, Beauford Rd, Marchmont Rd; & (ii) Spottiswoode Rd: Marchmont Rd, Warrender Pk Rd, Arden St. The Order shall have effect from 17/11/25 to 8/1/26.
