What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT ORDER

THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARKING AND DAGENHAM

(STONARD ROAD, DAGENHAM)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE OF INTENT

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in order to facilitate gas mains works, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham intends to make a Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

2. The order is expected to come in to effect on Monday 12 January 2026. The works expected for:

• Gas mains works, to take 12 days to complete. Completion date estimated as Friday 23 January 2026 with the work expected to be undertaken at all times.

However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be re-introduced should further works be required.

3. When the works are taking place and the appropriate traffic signs are being displayed the Order will temporarily: -

• Prohibit all vehicular traffic on Stonard Road, both sides, from its junction with Longbridge Road for 12 metres in a southerly direction.

• Prohibit all vehicular traffic (Except for access) on Stonard Road, both sides, from its junction with Marlborough Road to a point 12 metres south of its junction with Longbridge Road.

4. Alternative routes for Vehicular traffic will be maintained and signed:

• Via Longbridge Road, Highgrove Road, Marlborough Road and Vice versa.
