What is happening?

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath N53/2, Sturminster Newton

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians, horse riders and cyclists will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath N53/2, Sturminster Newton from grid reference ST7863314446 to grid reference ST7895214499, a distance of approximately 330 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 5th December 2025 and will remain in force for 26 weeks and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.

This Order is required to allow CG Fry and Sons Ltd to build a housing development.
