Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SWALE AREA
A2 Canterbury Road, Preston Grove & A251 Ashford Road, Faversham. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A2 Canterbury Road, Preston Grove & A251 Ashford Road, Faversham.
A2 Canterbury Road & Preston Grove will be closed from 21st July 2025, with estimated completion by 17th August 2025.
A2 Canterbury Road will be closed between Preston Park and the junction with A251 Ashford Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Preston Grove will be closed at the junction with A2 Canterbury Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A251 Ashford Road, M2 J6 on slip, M2 J6-J7, M2 J7 off slip, A2 Brenley Corner Roundabout, London Road, Canterbury Road and vice versa.
A251 Ashford Road will be closed southbound only from 18th August 2025, with estimated completion by 31st August 2025.
The road will be closed between the junctions with A2 Canterbury Road and Tettenhall Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A2 Canterbury Road, London Road, Brenley Corner Roundabout, M2 J7 on slip, M2 J7-J6, M2 J6 off slip and vice versa.
Allsworth Close, Newington, ME9 7NW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow underground structure works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Allsworth Close, Newington, from 23rd July 2025, with estimated completion by 25th July 2025, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Playstool Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Bysing Wood Road, Luddenham, ME13 0TB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bysing Wood Road, Luddenham, from 21st July 2025, with estimated completion by 22nd July 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Four Oaks Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bysing Wood Road, Colegates Road, The Street, Oare Road, B2045 Western Link, A2 London Road, Station Road, The Crescent, Lower Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Christophers Row, Lynsted. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Christophers Row, Lynsted, from 25th July 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Sharsted Road and Doddington Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Lynsted Lane, A2 London Road, Faversham Road, The Street, Doddington Lane, The Street, Chequers Hill, Doddington Lane, Christophers Row and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Church Road, Tonge, ME9 9AW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Road, Tonge, from 23rd July 2025, with estimated completion by 24th July 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Scraps Hill and Castle Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Hempstead Lane, A2 The Street, A2 Fox Hill, A2 Canterbury Road, Murston Road, Church Road, Tonge Road, Lomas Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Down Court Road, Doddington, ME9 0AT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow pole testing works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Down Court Road, Doddington, from 7th August 2025, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Chequers Hill and Down Court Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chequers Hill, Doddington Lane, Christophers Row, The Street, Lynsted Lane, A2 London Road, The Street, Panteny Lane, Church Street, Pitstock Road, Sawpit Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Rodmersham Green, Rodmersham, ME9 0LR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Rodmersham Green, Rodmersham, from 4th August 2025, with estimated completion by 6th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Spade Lane, Upchurch, ME8 8PT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Spade Lane, Upchurch, from 23rd July 2025, with estimated completion by 24th July 2025, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the entrance to the distribution centre, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 London Road, South Bush Lane, Meresborough Lane, Spade Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Staplehurst Road, Sittingbourne, ME10 1QZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Staplehurst Road, Sittingbourne, from 24th July 2025, with estimated completion by 31st August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junction with Cavell Way and the EPS entrance, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 London Road, Chalkwell Road, Springfield Road, Staplehurst Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Street, Hartlip, ME9 7TH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER AUGUST 2025
To allow water pipe repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Hartlip, from 5th August 2025, with estimated completion by 6th August 2025, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of the property Sanquhar, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Hollow Lane, Lower Hartlip Road, Mount Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Various Roads, Minster-on-sea & Halfway. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2025
To allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic, in phases, on part of various roads throughout Minster-on-sea & Halfway. This order takes effect on or after 23rd July 2025, with estimated completion by 31st October 2025.
Road closures will not conflict with each other and a suitable diversion route will remain in place at all times.
Works Schedule
Phase 1 – B2008 Minster Road will be closed in phases from the 23rd July 2025, with estimated completion by 31st August 2025 alongside the other roads listed.
B2008 Minster Road, Minster-on-sea
The road will be closed between the junctions with Pleasant Place and Scrapsgate, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A250 Queenborough Road, Queenborough Road (non A road), A2500 Lower Road, Forty Acres Hill, Lower Road, B2008 Eastchurch Road, Chequers Road, Chapel Street, Back Lane, Minster Road (main diversion route).
Pleasant Place, Halfway
The road will be closed in its entirety, the extents will be indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Access will be maintained when it is safe to do so.
Parsonage Chase, Minster-on-sea
The road will be closed between the junctions with B2008 Minster Road and Darlington Drive, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Darlington Drive, Barton Hill Drive, main diversion route for B2008 Minster Road.
Scrapsgate Road, Minster-on-sea
The road will be closed between the junctions with B2008 Minster Road and Silverdale Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Scrapsgate, The Broadway, main diversion route for B2008 Minster Road.
Banner Way, Halfway
The road will be closed in its entirety, the extents will be indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via B2008 Minster Road, The Crescent, Southdown Road, Highfield Road, Admirals Walk and vice versa.
Phase 2 – B2008 Minster Road will be closed in phases from 1st September 2025, with estimated completion by 6th October 2025 alongside the other roads listed.

The road will be closed between the junctions with Harps Avenue and Waterloo Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A250 Queenborough Road, Queenborough Road (non A road), A2500 Lower Road, Forty Acres Hill, Lower Road, B2008 Eastchurch Road, Chequers Road, Chapel Street, Back Lane, main diversion route for B2008 Minster Road.

The alternative route for vehicles is via Scocles Road, Back Lane, B2008 Minster Road main diversion route.
Glenwood Drive, Minster-on-sea
The road will be closed between the junctions with B2008 Minster Road and Saxon Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Saxon Avenue, The Broadway, main diversion route for B2008 Minster Road.
Whybornes Chase, Minster-on-sea
The road will be closed between the junctions with B2008 Minster Road and Abbeyview Drive, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Abbeyview Drive, Glenwood Drive, main diversion route for B2008 Minster Road.
Bellevue Road, Minster-on-sea
The road will be closed between the junction with B2008 Minster Road and number 2, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Queenborough Drive, Whybornes Chase, B2008 Minster Road main diversion route.
Sunnyside Avenue, Minster-on-sea
The road will be closed between the junctions with B2008 Minster Road and Silverdale Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Scrapsgate, B2008 Minster Road and vice versa.
