What is happening?
Temporary Traffic Management Order Of Various Roads, Gillingham
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 5th May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed between 22nd July 2025 -5th August 2025.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surface dressing works.
The effect of this Order is as follows:
[i] To impose a temporary road closure on: The Meadows, Gillingham as indicated by signs on site.
[ii] To impose a temporary speed restriction of 10mph to facilitate the use of a convoy working vehicle along B3081, Gillingham as indicated by signs on site.
[iii] To impose a clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along The Meadows, Gillingham and B3081, Gillingham.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
Please note that the dates are a window of opportunity and the road may not be closed for the whole duration stated above and the works are weather dependant.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 5th May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed between 22nd July 2025 -4th August 2025.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surface dressing works.
The effect of this Order is as follows:
[i] To impose a temporary speed restriction of 10mph to facilitate the use of a convoy working vehicle along A30, Shaftesbury as indicated by signs on site.
[ii] To impose a clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along A30, Shaftesbury.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Notice may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14
[1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 5th May 2025 and will remain in force for 18 months, however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed between 14th July 2025 and 25th July 2025.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surface dressing works.
[1] To impose temporary road closure on Goathill Road, Goathill from a point 70 metres to the north of Goathill Farm to the junction with Haydon Hollow (in both directions), a distance of approximately 690 metres. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads.
[2] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Goathill Road, Goathill from a point 70 metres to the north of Goathill Farm to the junction with Haydon Hollow (in both directions), a distance of approximately 690 metres. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads.
[2] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along Stoke Lane, Mappowder between Coniger Knap and The Green (in both directions), a distance of approximately 2430 metres.
