Markham Road - Temporary Road Closure
What is happening?
DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
MARKHAM ROAD, CHESTERFIELD
WHEN: 06 May to 09 August 2025 (20:00 to 07:00 each night, any 10 days between dates).
WHERE: Markham Road, Chesterfield between West Bars Interchange and its jct. with Park Road.
REASON: To facilitate carriageway patching / resurfacing works.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: A619 Markham Road (from point of closure), Lordsmill Interchange, A617, Hornsbridge Interchange, A61 Derby Road, St Augustines Road, Boythorpe Interchange, Boythorpe Road, West Bars Interchange and vice versa.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190. The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
