What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH
TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
HOWL GATE, HIGH CATTON
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order
the effect of which is to prohibit any person from
causing any vehicle to proceed along part of Howl
Gate, High Catton from the junction of Newbridge
Lane to approximately 115 metres West commencing
28 April 2025.
The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed
excavation and installation of a new PRV and water
main set up to enable flows from the new reservoir, to
be carried out and completed in a manner consistent
with ensuring the safety of the public.
It is anticipated that the works will be completed by
6 May 2025. The alternative route for traffic affected
by the Order is via Howl Gate, Mitchell Lane, High
Catton Road, Church Road, Moor Road, Newbridge
Lane and vice versa.
The road will be closed to all through traffic but
remain open at all times to pedestrians and for
vehicular access to properties directly affected by the
closure and for emergency services.
The Order will commence 28 April 2025 and
continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen
months or until the works which it is proposed to
carry out have been completed, whichever is the
