Southwell Road And Oxton Hill - Temporary Prohibition of Driving For Patching Works
What is happening?
The Nottinghamshire County Council
(Southwell Road And Oxton Hill, Oxton) (Temporary Prohibition Of Driving) Order 2025 (N25-085)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Oxton in the District of Newark and Sherwood.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road
a. B6386 Southwell Road, Oxton - From its junction with B6386 Oxton Hill to its junction with B6386 Epperstone Road
b. B6386 Oxton Hill, Oxton - From its junction with Oxton Hill, Southwell to its junction with B6386 Southwell Road
2. Vehicles are prohibited from Waiting, Loading and Unloading (both sides) (at all times) in the following length of road
a. B6386 Southwell Road, Oxton - From its junction with B6386 Oxton Hill to its junction with B6386 Epperstone Road
b. B6386 Oxton Hill, Oxton - From its junction with Oxton Hill, Southwell to its junction with B6386 Southwell Road
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows: From 19:00 hours until 06:00 hours only From Monday 24th March until Saturday 29th March 2025 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a. Epperstone Road - A6097 - Oxton Baypass - A612 Southwell Road, Lowdham - A612 Nottingham Road, Southwell - B6386 Westgate, Southwell - Oxton Road, Southwell and vice versa
The Order will come into force on 24th March 2025 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out.
The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry patching works.
