THE RIDGEWAY, CHATHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable highway maintenance works to be carried out

The Ridgeway, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between the junction with Maidstone Road and the junction with Walderslade Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Maidstone Road and Walderslade Road.

This Order will come into force on Wednesday, 23 April 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Wednesday, 23 April 2025 and are programmed for completion within two days (with works taking place between 7am and 7pm). The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(STURDEE AVENUE AND TORONTO AVENUE, GILLINGHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable highway maintenance works to be carried out

Sturdee Avenue and Toronto Avenue, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic over the junction and in all directions for 75 metres from the crossroads. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Fourth Avenue and Barnsole Road.

This Order will come into force on Tuesday, 22 April 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Tuesday, 22 April 2025 and are programmed for completion within one day (with works taking place between 7am and 7pm).

(HIGH STREET, BROMPTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable highway maintenance works to be carried out

High Street, Brompton - to be closed to all vehicular traffic. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Middle Street.

This Order will come into force on Thursday, 20 March 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Thursday, 20 March 2025 and are programmed for completion within one day (with works taking place between 7am and 7pm). The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(HEMPSTEAD VALLEY DRIVE, GILLINGHAM) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable highway maintenance works to be carried out

Hempstead Valley Drive, Gillingham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic between Hungry Fox Roundabout and Chapel Lane. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Hempstead Road and Pear Tree Lane.

This Order will come into force on Thursday, 17 April 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Thursday, 17 April 2025 and are programmed for completion within one day (with works taking place between 7am and 7pm). The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(CLIFFE ROAD, ROCHESTER) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable a manhole cover and frame to be replaced -

Cliffe Road, Rochester - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 43 Cliffe Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Frindsbury Road, Bill Street Road, Cooling Road, Hollywood Lane and Brompton Farm Road.

This Order will come into force on Thursday, 27 March 2025 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Thursday, 27 March 2025 and are programmed for completion within two nights (with works taking place between 8pm and 5am). The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed. (PARKING PLACES AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.35) ORDER 2025 NOTICE OF MAKING CHURCH STREET, CHATHAM

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council, on 18 March 2025 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

The general effect of the Order, which comes into operation on 24 March 2025 is to introduce 5 x short-stay echelon (angled) parking bays in Church Street, Chatham, for the purpose of managing evening, overnight and early morning parking:

-  North-west side, from a point 5.5 metres north-eastwards from the common boundary of Nos.4 and 6 Church Street in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 12 metres.

The marked bays will allow a maximum stay of 1 hour, with no return within 1 hour, on all days between 5pm and 10am the following morning.

Copies of the Order and of other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order can be requested by sending an email to parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk or by writing to Parking Design team, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TR before the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the Order was made.

Persons wishing to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the 1984 Act, or that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may, within six weeks from the above date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.

(ST MARGARET’S STREET, ROCHESTER):
ONE-WAY
 NOTICE OF PROPOSAL

The Medway Council (Prescribed Routes) (Various Roads) (Amendment No.1) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 1, 2 and 4 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2.  The general effect of the Order would be to extend the existing one-way restriction allowing vehicular travel in a south-westerly direction on ST MARGARET’S STREET, ROCHESTER so that it operates between a point 15.5 metres south from the south-western kerb-line of Vines Street and the northern kerb-line of Watts Avenue.

3.  Copies of the proposed Order, plans and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order may be inspected at the front reception, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TR during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, except for bank and public holidays. Electronic copies of the documents can be requested by sending an email to TROconsult@medway.gov.uk  on the understanding that requests may take up to 5 working days to be completed.

4.  Any objections or other representations to the proposed Order should be sent in writing by email to TROconsult@medway.gov.uk or by post to “Parking Design team” at the address specified in paragraph 3 above, by Monday, 14 April 2025 to be considered, stating name, address and grounds for objection or support.
