What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(BRICKHILL ROAD, HEATH & REACH)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Brickhill Road, Heath & Reach outside number 8.

This temporary closure is required to enable meter exchange works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place on 7 April 2025 between the hours of 8am and 5pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Brickhill Road, Heath Road, Ivy Lane, Bragenham Lane, Linslade Road, Woburn Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 7 April 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(SHENLEY HILL ROAD, LEIGHTON BUZZARD)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Shenley Hill Road, Leighton Buzzard approximately 430m east from junction with Avon Walk.

This temporary closure is required to enable dropzone works to the overhead network to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 7 to 14 April 2025 between the hours of 8am and 5pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Miletree Road, Eastern Way, A5, Woburn Road, Leighton Road, Heath Road, Church Street, Leston Road, A4012, Hockliffe Street, Beaudesert, Vandyke Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 7 April 2025 for a period of one month or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(WING ROAD, LINSLADE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Wing Road, Linslade from the bypass to Bunkers Lane.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway resurfacing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 7 to 11 April 2025 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Leighton Road, West Street, Leston Road, A4012, A4146, Wing Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 24 March 2025 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL – NOTICE OF MAKING

FIRBANK WAY AND CHARTMOOR ROAD, LEIGHTON BUZZARD WAITING RESTRICTIONS

On 11th March 2025 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:

To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following lengths of road in Leighton Buzzard:-

1.  Firbank Way, both sides, from the junction with Chartmoor Road, extending in a north-easterly direction for approximately 18 metres.

2.  Chartmoor Road, north-east side, from the junction with Firbank Way, extending in a north-westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.

3.  Chartmoor Road, north-east side, from the junction with Firbank Way, extending in a south-easterly direction for approximately 10 metres.

Order Title:- Central Bedfordshire Council (Bedfordshire County Council (District of South Bedfordshire) (Civil Enforcement Area and Special Enforcement Area) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2008) (Variation No.12) Order 2025 Date of Operation:- The Order will come into operation on the 25th March 2025.

High Court Challenge:- Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Section had not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of 11th March 2025, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following lengths of road in Leighton Buzzard:-

1.  Garden Leys, both sides, from the junction with Brooklands Drive, extending in a southerly direction for approximately 10 metres

2.  Brooklands Drive, south side, from the junction with Garden Leys and extending in a north-easterly direction for approximately 10 metres.

3.  Brooklands Drive, south side, from the junction with Garden Leys, extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.

To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following lengths of road in Leighton Buzzard:-

1.  Ashwell Street, both sides, from the junction with Church Street, extending in a south-westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.

2.  Church Street, west side, from the junction with Ashwell Street, extending in a northerly direction for approximately 10 metres.

3.  Church Street, west side, from the junction with Ashwell Street, extending in a southerly direction for approximately 10 metres.

Order Title:- Central Bedfordshire Council (Bedfordshire County Council (District of South Bedfordshire) (Civil Enforcement Area and Special Enforcement Area) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2008) (Variation No.14) Order 2025. Date of Operation:- The Order will come into operation on the 25th March 2025.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(EGGINGTON: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 1, STANBRIDGE:

FOOTPATH NO. 9, AND LEIGHTON BUZZARD: FOOTPATH NO. 64) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along public Footpath No. 64, Leighton Buzzard, public Footpath No. 9, Stanbridge and part of public Footpath No. 1, Eggington which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) SP 9432 2447 to OS GR SP 9440 2466.

This temporary closure is required due to works required. The closure is expected to take place from 20th March 2025 for up to six months.

There is no alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation.

The Order will come into operation on 20th March 2025 for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out on or near to the footpath have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.
