What is happening?

THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF RIVER LANE, MARKET WEIGHTON

Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this notice to make an Order, the effect of
which will be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding
along part of River Lane, Market Weighton between
its junction with Holme Road to Linden House Access
Road commencing 15 April 2025 for the purposes of
tree trimming/felling and cutting back of vegitation from
the overhead high and low voltage electricity supply
cables. The road closure is necessary to enable the
works to be carried out in a manner consistent with
ensuring the safety of the public. The Order is valid for
18 months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
completed within two days. The alternative route for
traffic affected by the road closure will be via:
Holme Road, Holme Road Roundabout, A1079 Giant
Bradley Way, Cliffe Road, Long Lane and River Lane,
Market Weighton CP, Wolds Weighton Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The road will be closed to all through traffic
but access will be maintained for residents, emergency
vehicles and pedestrians. Further information can
