Waltham Forest - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Footway Restrictions due to Works
What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF WALTHAM FOREST
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
THE WALTHAM FOREST
(THAMES WATER CONNECTION AND REPAIRS)
(TEMPORARY MEASURES) (E17 ROADS) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025
The Council of the London Borough of Waltham Forest HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that on 9th January 2025 it made an Order to allow water connection and repair works by Thames Water to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner in E17 roads.
The general effect of the Order will be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to prohibit vehicles from entering, proceeding, waiting or loading in:
(i) Hitcham Road E17 – between the common boundaries of Nos. 89/93 and Nos. 105/109;
(ii) Low Hall Lane E17 – between its junction with Markhouse Road a point 10 metres from the said junction;
Whilst the restrictions referred to in paragraph 2(i) above remain in force, vehicular access to and egress from side roads or any driveway at such time and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, waiting or loading by vehicles shall be prohibited in Low Hall Lane E17 (both sides) outside Nos. 30 to 40.
The Order will come into operation on 17th January 2025 for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
NOTE: These works would not occur simultaneously in all roads. The works in Hitcham Road are expected to be completed within 11 days, and in Low Hall Lane within 3 days however the Order has been extended to allow for any contingencies. (ref: TT73(24))
THE WALTHAM FOREST
(UKPN LINK BOX) (CRANSTON GARDENS E4)
(TEMPORARY MEASURES) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025*
The Council of the London Borough of Waltham Forest HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that on 9th January 2025 it made an Order to allow for the removal of apparatus by UK Power Networks (UKPN), to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner in Cranston Gardens E4.
The general effect of the Order will be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to prohibit vehicles from entering, proceeding, waiting or loading for any purpose, at "any time", in Cranston Gardens E4 (CRG) – between its junction with Kingsley Gardens and the common boundary of Nos. 23/25 CRG.
The Order will come into operation on 20th January 2025 for a maximum period of 6 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
NOTE: The works are expected to be completed within 5 days, however the Order has been extended to allow for any contingencies. (ref: TT73(24))
THE WALTHAM FOREST
(NWR STRUCTURE INSPECTION)
(LEA BRIDGE ROAD E10)
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025
The Council of the London Borough of Waltham Forest HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that on 9th January 2025 it made an Order to enable Network Rail (NWR) to carry out detailed structure inspections in Lea Bridge Road, in a safe and efficient manner.
The general effect of the Order will be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to prohibit vehicles from entering, proceeding, waiting or loading for any purpose, "at any time", in Lea Bridge Road E10 – between its junctions with Bickley Road and Dunton Road.
The Order will come into operation on 25th January 2025 for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
NOTE: The works in Lea Bridge Road are expected to be completed within 1 night, however, the Order has been extended to allow for any contingencies. (ref: TT74(24))
THE WALTHAM FOREST
(FOOTWAY CLOSURE) (E17 REGION)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) (NO. 1) ORDER 2025
The Council of the LBWF HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that it intends to make an Order to allow for the resurfacing of footway and other works associated with public realm improvement to be carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
The general effect of the Order will be, only at such times and to such extent as regulatory signs are displayed, to:
(i) Restrict pedestrians and cyclists from using the footpath between Brunner Road E17 and Courtenay Place E17;
(ii) Prohibit vehicles from waiting or loading in Brunner Road E17 (east-west arm, south side) – opposite No. 85;
(iii) Prohibit vehicles from loading in Brunner Road E17 (east-west arm, south side) – opposite Nos. 1–60 Fairlie House.
The Order would come into operation on 10th February 2025 and would be valid for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works are completed, whichever is the sooner.
NOTE: Signage would be placed in advance of any works in the above-mentioned roads and footpath which would give more specific details on the exact dates of the effects of any temporary traffic management and diversion routes as necessary. (ref: TT2(25))

Vehicles waiting or loading in disregard of the aforementioned Orders would be removed.
The prohibitions mentioned in all notices above would not apply in respect of the following, when being used:
a) In connection with the said works; or
b) For ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes (if the works allow).
Any designated controlled parking spaces situated in the roads or (to be) suspended by any of the measures set out in the notices above will be suspended.
Signage will be placed in advance of any works in the roads mentioned in the aforementioned notices which would give more specific details on the exact dates of the prohibitions, the effects of any temporary traffic management and diversion routes as necessary.
