What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN BOGMOOR ROAD, BARLEY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bogmoor Road, Barley from its junction with Shaftenhoe End Road south westwards to its junction with Smiths End Lane, a distance of approximately 2450m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via Shaftenhoe End Road, Church End, B1368 London Road and Smiths End Lane.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 29 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY 40MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS ON A505 ROYSTON BYPASS, ROYSTON) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from being driven at a speed exceeding 40mph on that length of A505 Royston Bypass, Royston from a point 216m south east of its junction with Newmarket Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 336m (“the Road”), when signs are in place.

The Order is needed because the replacement and removal of existing sign posts is proposed to be executed near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 27 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF B1368 HIGH STREET, BARKWAY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of B1368 High Street, Barkway from its junction with Ash Mill southwards to its junction with Gas Lane, a distance of approximately 108m (“the Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B1368 (High Street/ Cambridge Road/London Road/High Street), B1039 (Royston Road/Barkway Road), A10 (Barkway Street/London Road/ Ermine Street/unnamed road/Buntingford Bypass), B1038 (Baldock Road/High Street/Hare Street Road/unnamed road) and B1368 (unnamed road/Biggin Hill/London Road)

or B1368 (High Street/London Road/Cambridge Road/ High Street/London Road/Biggin Hill/unnamed road), B1038 (unnamed road/Hare Street Road/High Street/Baldock Road), A10 (Buntingford Bypass/unnamed road/Ermine Street/ London Road/Market Hill/Priory Lane), B1039 Barkway Street/ Royston Road) and B1368 (High Street/London Road/ Cambridge Road/High Street).

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 29 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF C5 (UNNAMED ROAD), SLIP END) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of C5 (unnamed road), Slip End from a point 299m north west of its junction with A505 Royston Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 30m (“the Road”).

An alternative route will be via C5 (unnamed road), A505 (Royston Road/Baldock Road), Station Road, Lucas Lane, High Street, Kingsland Way and C5 (unnamed road)

or via C5 (unnamed road), Kingsland Way, High Street, Lucas Lane, Station Road, A505 Baldock Road, the A505 Royston Bypass roundabout, A505 (Baldock Road/Royston Road/Baldock Bypass), B656 Royston Bypass Interchange with Wallington Road, A505 (Baldock Bypass/Royston Road) and C5 (unnamed road).

The Order is needed because vegetation clearance works are proposed to be executed near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 25 January 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
