What is happening?

(Various Roads, Brentwood) (Brentwood Half Marathon)
(Special Events) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council in exercise of its powers under
Section 16 (A-C) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has made the
above Order to facilitate the Brentwood Half Marathon and Fun Run Event.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close the following lengths of roads in the Borough of Brentwood:

The restrictions are scheduled to commence on 24 March 2024 for 1 day between
the hours shown above or where appropriate signs are showing, and weather
permitting and is required to facilitate the Brentwood Half Marathon Event.
2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5t weight restriction on Nine Ashes Road imposed
by The Essex County Council (Various Roads, Brentwood and Epping Forest
Districts) (Weight Restriction) (Variation) Order 1987, any other restriction on this
Order will still be in force
Road Description
Nine Ashes Road From its junction with Ongar Road north to its junction with
Stondon Road at the Stondon Massey/High Ongar Parish
boundary
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during
the closure.
The Order will come into effect on 24 March 2024 and may continue in force for
3 days unless extended by the Secretary of State.
(Beacon Hill Road, Dudbrook Road, Navestock & Kelvedon Hall Lane,
Navestock/Kelvedon Hatch) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven
days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Beacon Hill Road, Navestock in the Borough
of Brentwood, from its junction with Dudbrook Road to its junction with Howard
Lodge Road a distance of approximately 420m.
2. To temporarily close that length of Dudbrook Road, Navestock in the Borough
of Brentwood, from the junction of Navestock Side for a distance of approximately
1730m in a north westerly, south westerly then north westerly direction.
3. To temporarily close that length of Kelvedon Hall Lane, Navestock/Kelvedon Hatch
in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 110m northwest of the
junction with Beacon Hill for a distance of 400m in a north westerly direction.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 15th April 2024 for 12 days being
carried out one closure at a time, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231010251
– EP02231010252 – EP02231010253 – GTM). The scheduled dates may vary for
these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The
closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree cutting
works are undertaken by GTM.
Alternative routes are available via
1. Beacon Hill Road, Church Road, Ongar Road, Crown Road, Dudbrook Road and
vice versa.
2. Navestock Side, Prince’s Road, Dudbrook Road and vice versa.
3. Church Road, Ongar Road, Kelvedon Hall Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 27th March 2024 and may continue in force for
18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, Borough of Brentwood) (Temporary Prohibition
of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (High Street,
Brentwood) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction)
& (Weald Road, Brentwood) (Temporary Introduction of a
Banned Left Turn) (No.4) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order
under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the Borough of Brentwood as
specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be
introduced on both sides of carriageway on those lengths of roads as specified in
the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be
installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction
will be in force.
3. “The Essex County Council (Brentwood Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading
and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation
Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting,
No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing
parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other
restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and
Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
4. To temporarily introduce a banned left turn (Slip Road) from High Street,
Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood into Weald Road.
5. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction in that length of High Street,
Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood from its junction with Kings Road to its
junction with Ingrave Road a distance of approximately 65m as cited “The Essex
County Council (A1023 High Street, Brentwood) (7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction)
Order 2010”.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from
13th March 2024, exact dates will be specified on One.network. The roads will be
closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will
be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each
location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter / leaflet
drop and advanced warning signs on the road.
