What is happening?
THE A2 AND A2070 TRUNK ROADS (PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
National Highways Limited (NHL) gives notice that it has made an Order using powers conferred by sections 1(1), 2(1) and 2(2) and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A2 and A2070 Trunk Roads in the Districts of Dover and Ashford in the County of Kent.
The Order was made on 16th October 2023 and comes into force 7th November 2023.
The effect of the Order is that no person may cause or permit a vehicle to be driven on:
a) the coast-bound carriageway of the A2 between the tip of the nosing of the exit slip road and the tip of the nosing of the entry slip road at Honeywood Interchange (A256 and Honeywood Parkway);
b) the coast-bound carriageway of the A2 between Duke of York’s Roundabout (A258) and Eastern Docks Roundabout (A20);
c) the link road connecting the A2 at Eastern Docks Roundabout to the westbound carriageway of the A20; and
d) the eastbound carriageway of that part of the A2070 connecting Sevington
roundabout to M20 Junction 10a, between Sevington Roundabout and the
access road to Sevington Inland Border Facility; at such times and to such duration as may be indicated by temporary traffic signs.
A copy of the Made Order and plans illustrating the proposals may be inspected during office hours until the end of the statutory period 6 weeks from the date the order was made, thereby 27th November 2023 at:

Any person wishing to question the validity of the order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act, or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with, may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court, quoting the reference
NH/SE/2023/KENT FREIGHT MANAGEMENT (NON-SPEED).

THE A2 TRUNK ROAD (WHITFIELD TO HONEYWOOD) (40 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2023
National Highways Limited (NHL) gives notice that it has made an Order using powers conferred by Sections 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A2 Trunk Road in the District of Dover in the County of Kent. The Order was made on 16th October 2023 and comes into force 7th November 2023. The effect of the Order is that no person shall cause or permit a vehicle to be driven at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour on the coast-bound carriageway of the A2 between the exit from Whitfield Roundabout (A256 and Archer’s Court Road) and its merge point with the entry slip road at Honeywood Interchange (A256 and Honeywood Parkway), at such times and to such an extent as may be indicated by traffic signs.
A copy of the Made Order and plans illustrating the effects may be inspected during office hours until the end of the statutory period 6 weeks from the date the order was made, thereby 27th November 2023 at:
