What is happening?

(A710 PRINCIPAL ROAD FROM U201N AT WHINNYHILL TO NEW
ABBEY ROAD (PART OF), DUMFRIES) (30 MILES PER HOUR SPEED
LIMIT) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council propose to make this Order under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984. The general effect of the Order will be to make it unlawful to drive a motor
vehicle at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour along the length of road detailed in the Schedule to
the Order. Full details of the draft Order may be inspected between 13/10/23 and -3/11/23 online at
www.tellmescotland.gov.uk or by arrangement (Tel – 01387 271100).
Objectors must state their reasons in writing to the Head of Roads and Infrastructure, Communities
Directorate, Dumfries and Galloway Council, Militia House, English Street, Dumfries DG1 2HR, to be
received by 3/11/23.
(A756 BROOMS ROAD, PLEASANCE AVENUE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC
REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2023
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close
railway bridge at A756 Brooms Road from 2200 on 24/10/23 to 0600 on 25/10/23. The closure is
necessary to facilitate bridge inspection. Alternative route available via: Westbound Traffic- Brooms
Road, Annan Road, Shakespeare Street, Nith Place, Dockhead, Brooms Road. Eastbound Traffic-
Brooms Road, Dockhead, Whitesands, Buccleuch Street, Loreburn Street, English Street, Annan Road.
Emergency access will not be available if required. Pedestrian access will not be maintained.
DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY COUNCIL (VARIOUS ROADS,
CARRUTHERSTOWN) (20 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT) TRAFFIC
REGULATION ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council propose to make this Order under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984. The general effect of the Order will be to make it unlawful to drive a motor
vehicle at speed exceeding 20 miles per hour along the lengths of road detailed in the schedule to
the Order. Full details of the draft Order may be inspected between 13/10/23 and 03/11/23 online
at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk or by arrangement (Tel – 030 33 33 3000. Objectors must state their
reasons in writing to the Head of Roads and Infrastructure, Communities, Dumfries and Galloway
Council, Militia House, English Street, Dumfries, DG1 2HR, to be received by 3 November 2023.
(C17N WATCHHILL - SHIELDHILL) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC
REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2023
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close
the C17n at bridge near Beech Cottage, Shieldhill from 8am on 23/10/23 to 5pm on 06/11/23. The
closure is necessary to facilitate bridge repair works. Alternative route available via C15n, U45n,
C16n and vice versa. Emergency access will not be available if required. Pedestrian access will not
be maintained.
(C11N DUMFRIES - AULDGIRTH) (TEMPORARY 40 MILES PER HOUR
SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2023
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to impose a temporary
40mph speed limit on the C11n, 300m SE of Duncow Primary School from 0930 – 1530 on
24/10/23. The restriction is necessary to facilitate safety for workforce in association with
Openreach pole replacement works.
(A702 DALRY – EDINBURGH VIA THORNHILL (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC
REGULATION ORDER) ORDER 2023
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close the
A702 at railway bridge between High Enoch and Carronbank, North of Carronbridge from 10pm
on 25/10/23 to 6am on 26/10/23. The closure is necessary to facilitate rail bridge examination.
Alternative route available via A702, B7076, A701, A75, A76, A702 and vice versa. Emergency
access will not be available if required. Pedestrian access will not be maintained.
(C114N AULDGIRTH BRIDGE – PARKHOUSE & C125N CAIRNHALL
- PENPONT) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER) NO.2
ORDER 2023
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close the
C114n from Allanton Mill to Gateside of Moat, Auldgirth & C125n from its junction with C114n,
westwards for approx.400m, from 0930 – 1530 on 26/10/23. The closure is necessary to facilitate
overhead fibre cabling works. Alternative route available via C114n, A76(T), C113n, C114n, U376n,
C125n and vice versa. Emergency access will be available if required. Pedestrian access will be
maintained.
