What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): ORDER NO. MCC134833387: The City of Manchester (West Mosley Street, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on West Mosley Street between Charlotte Street and New York Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Spring Gardens, York Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate electrical connection work. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 19th August 2023 to 20th August 2023. The order shall come into operation on 19th August 2023 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. ORDER NO. MCC134840879: The City of Manchester (Stocks Street, Cheetham Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Stocks Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Lord Street, Cheetham Hill Road, St Chad’s Street and Vice Versa. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate utility works. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 19th August 2023 to 20th August 2023. The order shall come into operation on 19th August 2023 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. ORDER NO. MCC134908224: The City of Manchester (Bootle Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to restrict traffic on Bootle Street between Deansgate and Jerusalem Place. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Deansgate, Peter Street, Southmill Street & Marron Place, Peter Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate building repairs. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 19th August 2023 to 20th August 2023. The order shall come into operation on 19th August 2023 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. ORDER NO. MCC134723075: The City of Manchester (Atherton Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Atherton Street from Quay Street for 50 meters. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Quay Street, Lower Byrom Street, Great John Street & Gartside, Young Street, Quay Street, Lower Byrom Street, Great John Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a crane. It is expected that the works will be in progress on the 20th August 2023 only. The order shall come into operation on 20th August 2023 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
