Falmouth, Marine Licence Application For Offshore Demonstrator Buoy Deployment
What is happening?
MARINE AND COASTAL ACCESS ACT 2009 APPLICATION FOR BP Power Buoy System (PBS)
Notice is hereby given that Brad Davies, Buoyant Production Technologies Limited Ltd (BPT), Marine Renewables Business Park, Room 7, Chi Gallos, Hayle, Cornwall, GU9 7PT has applied to the Marine Management Organisation under the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009, Part 4, for a marine licence to undertake the deployment of a 1/5 scaled Floating Normally Unattended Installation (floating NUI) demonstrator buoy for testing operations in offshore environment.
The demonstrator will be tested in 50 meters (m) of wate r 4.2 kilometres (km) offshore at the Falmouth Bay Test facility (FaBTest) a pre-leased site managed by Falmouth Harbour Commissioners for six months during the Summer 2025. The floating structure consists of two cylinders with total measurement of 8.50m diameter x 8.30m depth attached via 3-line, hybrid chain/wire catenary mooring with 11, 12t bundles of chain gravity anchors (3 anchors on line 1, 4 on lines 2 and 3).

In all cases, correspondence must:
- Be received within 28 days of the date of the first notice 16.04.2025
- Quote the case reference; and
- include an address to which correspondence relating to the representation or objection may be sent.
The Marine Management Organisation will pass to the applicant a copy of any objection or representation we receive.
