(FOOTPATH NO. 18 (part) STAINFORTH) ORDER 2025 No 6

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 14(1)

(as amended)

Notice is hereby given that the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has made an Order, the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrian from proceeding along part of Footpath No. 18 from the point of closure at Grid Reference SD 8343 6718 for a distance of approximately 14 metres to Grid Reference SD 8344 6720 in the Parish of Stainforth, from 15 November 2025 until 16 May 2026.

This Order follows an Emergency Notice dated 25 October 2025 until 14 November 2025 inclusive.

The closure will be put into effect, when necessary, by means of the erection of notices and signs.

An alternative route may be used during the closure period which will be as follows: –

From the point of closure at Point A, SD 8343 6718, proceed south westwards for 254 metres along Public Footpath 05.78/18, to the junction with Public Footpath 05.74/9 and continue to the southwest for 75 metres to Point B, SD 8319 6699. Then proceed in a general westerly direction along Unsurfaced Unclassified Road 5.74/U814/30 for 1019 metres, to Point C at Stainforth, SD 8229 6738.

From Point D in Stainforth, at SD 8221 6749, proceed in a general easterly direction along Public Footpath 05.74/12 for 1728 metres to Point E at SD 8387 6779. Then proceed in a south westerly direction along Public Footpath 05.74/18 for 738 metres to the point of closure at Point F, SD 8344 6720.

The closure is to safeguard the public whilst works are undertaken to the footbridge at Grid Reference SD 8343 6719.
