What is planned?

Consultation On The Expansion Of Woodbridge Road Academy

Woodbridge Road Academy was originally intended to provide specialist places for up to 60 children with communication and interaction needs. This number has consistently been exceeded partly due to the shortfall in specialised places available in Suffolk and due to a significant number of admissions tribunals.

We are consulting to change our number of places from 60 to 90. In reality, this will not significantly change the number of children attending Woodbridge Road Academy.

The increase would mean that the official number of places reflects the number of pupils being educated. Subject to consultation, it is envisaged that the change in pupil place number would take place from September 2026 onwards.

For more details, and to contribute to the consultation, please visit: www.woodbridgeroadacademy.org/consultation.

Consultation closes 3rd December 2025.
