PUBLIC NOTICES

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (SCOTLAND) ACT 1997
THE STIRLING COUNCIL TREE PRESERVATION ORDER (No.1) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 30th May 2025, Stirling Council made a Tree Preservation Order (“TPO”) under Section 160 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 relative to a tree within the Garden Ground at 38 Keir Street, Bridge of Allan, Stirling, FK8 4QP.

The title of the TPO is The Stirling Council Tree Preservation Order (No.1) 2025 (Garden Ground at 38 Keir Street, Bridge of Allan, (OS 796 971)) (“the Order”).

The tree contained within the Order is a maturing Cedar tree, located within the front garden ground of the property and in the Bridge of Allan Conservation Area. The tree is visually significant to the amenity and character of the Conservation Area when viewed along Keir Street and Graham Street. In addition, the tree has climate change/carbon store value. Following a Conservation Area Tree Works Notification, received on 24th April 2025, notifying the Council of the intention to remove the Cedar tree, Stirling Council now wish to promote the Order. The Council considers that the Order is necessary to ensure retention of the tree and provide greater control over future tree works and works associated with any current and future Planning Applications.

A copy of the Order and the accompanying plan have been deposited for inspection by any person without payment at (1) the Bridge of Allan Library, Fountain Road, Bridge of Allan, FK9 4AT, open on Monday and Friday (9:00am-1:00pm, 2:00pm-5:00pm), Tuesday and Thursday (9:00am-1:00pm, 2:00pm-7:00pm) and Wednesday and Saturday (9:30am-12:30pm) and (2) the offices of Stirling Council, Planning Department, Teith House, Kerse Road, Stirling, open Monday to Friday (9:00am-4:00pm). An electronic copy of the Order can be provided by email, free of charge, by sending a request to planning@stirling.gov.uk

Any person may make representations about or objections to the making of the Order in accordance with Regulation 5 of the Town and Country Planning (Tree Preservation Order and Trees in Conservation Areas) (Scotland) Regulations 2010.

Any representation or objection should be made in writing and sent no later than Wednesday 9th July 2025 to the Service Manager - Planning & Building Standards, Stirling Council, Teith House, Kerse Road, Stirling, stating the person’s name and address and the nature and grounds of their representations or objections
