PRE-APPLICATION CONSULTATION PUBLIC EVENT

Proposal – Proposed East Airdrie Masterplan
Site Location – Land at Drumshangie, East Airdrie
Applicant: Albert Bartlett Properties

Albert Bartlett is undertaking further consultation on its vision for a new Masterplan on former mining land at Drumshangie, East Airdrie.

Last year, we invited you to our Stage 1 public consultation regarding the Masterplan vision for the former mining land at East Airdrie, east of Airdrie/A73. We wrote to over 5,000 homes, issued press notices and launched a website, all of which culminated in a successful exhibition in April 2023.

We would now like to share our updated vision for the site with you, which will include new employment opportunities, villages, services and new parks and paths for recreation.

This is the second public engagement event following a previous event in April 2023. The in-person consultation events will take place on 20th and 21st February (4.30-7.30pm) at the Albert Bartlett Factory, 251 Stirling Rd, Airdrie ML6 7SP. Following this final event, it is our intention to submit an application for Planning Permission in Principle later this year in Spring 2024.

Further information relating to this proposal and the consultation events can be obtained by visiting www.eastairdrie.com which will updated on 20th February.

You are able to make comment on the proposals directly to the applicant’s agent at this stage, either at the above events and/or in writing via the details provided on the above website. These comments must be submitted no later than 6th March 2024.

All comments can be submitted in person at the Exhibition or via the website which will be live on the above date. There will also be an opportunity to make representations to the Council as and when a formal planning application for the proposal is submitted later in the year.

Bidwells

On behalf of Albert Bartlett
