What is happening?

SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL

(The Common, Olveston) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles,
Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily,
to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of The Common which extends from Church Hill
westwards for 60m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the
public consequent upon pole testing works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 15 January
2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of
the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are
anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. No alternative route available.
(Redfield Hill, Oldland Common) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles,
Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily,
to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Redfield Hill which extends from a point
80m south east of A4175 High Street south eastwards for 219m. This order is required for the following reason:
in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pole replacement works on or adjacent
to the highway. The order will be operative from 17 January 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months.
The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position
and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between the
hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Alternative route: A4175 Barry Road, A431 Bath Road, Golden Valley Lane, Newpit
Lane, Redfield Hill (parts unaffected) and vice versa.
(Kingrove Lane, Chipping Sodbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles,
Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily,
to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Kingrove Lane which extends from a point
65m south of Gaunts Road southwards for 50m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with
the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon bridge inspection works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order will be operative from 14 January 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however
may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long
as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between the hours of 9am and 7pm.
No alternative route available
(Public Footpath OAY/48/10, Almondsbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use
by Foot Passengers) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that the above order, made by South Gloucestershire District Council on 14 June 2023, has
been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 26 June 2024 or until such
time as the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. The effect of the order has closed, temporarily, to foot
passengers the entire length of Public Footpath OAY/48/10. This order was required in connection with the provision
of a safety zone and would have expired on 25 December 2023. Alternative Route: No alternative route available

of the expedited procedure under the written representations procedure, any representations made to the council about
this application will be passed to the Secretary of State and there will be no opportunity to make further representations.
