M5 Motorway, Junction 26 - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic For Carriageway Replacement And Associated Works

What is happening?

THE M5 MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 26)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) intends to make an Order on the M5 Motorway in the County of Somerset so carriageway replacement and associated works can be carried out in safety.

The works are expected to take place on or after 20.00 hours on Sunday 15 June 2025 and be completed by 16 September 2025.

The effect of the Order would be to authorise the closure of the northbound and southbound entry and exit slip roads at M5 Junction 26.

During the closures traffic would be diverted via junctions of the M5 and local roads.

The closures (which would not apply to emergency services and works vehicles), and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works period and would only apply when traffic management measures are in place.

The Order would come into force on 13 June 2025 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months.
