Essex, Multiple Temporary Road Closures and Traffic Restriction due to Works.

What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Ashingdon Road, Rochford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) &

(Stambridge Road, Rochford/Stambridge)

(Temporary Suspension of 7.5T Weight Restriction) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Ashingdon Road, Rochford in the District of Rochford, from its junction with Meesons Mead to its junction with Holt Farm Way for a distance of approximately 555m.

2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5 tonne weight restriction in those lengths of Stambridge Road, Rochford/Stambridge from its junction with Weir Pond Road, Rochford in a general northerly direction to its junction with Apton Hall Road, Great Stambridge, a distance of 4.1 kilometres as cited in "The Essex County Council (Stambridge Road, Great Stambridge/Rochford) (Weight Restriction) Order 1988" for the duration of the above closure only.

The closure/restriction is scheduled to commence on 28th May 2024 for 8 nights (20:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231009796 - M.Anderson Construction Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while resurfacing works are undertaken by M.Anderson Construction Ltd.

An alternative route is available via:

Ashingdon Road, West Street, Bradley Way, South Street, North Street, Weir Pond Road, Stambridge Road, Apton Hall Road, Brays Lane, Ashingdon Road or

Ashingdon Road, Brays Lane, Apton Hall Road, Stambridge Road, East Street, South Street, Bradley Way, West Street, Ashingdon Road.

The Order will come into effect on 18th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Bridge Road, Shotgate) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Bridge Road, Shotgate in the

Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Southend Road for a distance of approximately

30m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th May

2024 for 25 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5021001322106 - Cadent).

The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or

displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while gas replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Southend Road, Bruce Grove and vice versa (with access only into Sandown Road and Bridge Road).

The Order will come into effect on 18th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Stock Road, Billericay) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Stock Road, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 30m south west of its junction with Radford Way for a distance of approximately 60m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 10th May 2024 for 3 nights (23:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (KL721SSV-24-34-100524 - Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while fence replacement works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

An alternative route is available via Stock Road, Radford Way, Mountnessing Road, London Road, High Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 18th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Sutton Road, Rochford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Sutton Road, Rochford in the District of Rochford, from its junction with Purdeys Way to its junction with Brook Close a distance of approximately 215m. The closure is scheduled to continue on 2nd April 2024, or where stated on a valid permit (AD037RO63923120 - Anglian Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while excavation to repair collapsed sewer pipe works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

An alternative route is available via Sutton Road, Sutton Road and Chandlers Way Roundabout and vice versa (with access only into Sutton Road).

The Order came into effect on 2nd April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
